Hunger Games Chapter 1 (Justemi)(REWRITE)

My awakening is abrupt when the first streak of sunlight shines the room. My fingers stretch to the other side of the bed, seeking Prim's warmth. When I find only the rough sheets over the bed, I assume she has already taken her place beside my mother. I can't blame her for having nightmares, today is the day of the reaping. I open my stone, gray eyes to find the sad darkness that never grows off this room. My eyes flicker towards my mother's bed. As I assumed, Prim lays with my mother, hugging each other tight. Prim. She was the light of the gray part of our city nicknamed the Seam. I look down in shame. She doesn't deserve to have such a hard life living in the Seam of District 12. Prim had blonde hair that bounces and lives with volume. Her eyes... were blue. So much unlike the gray eyes those from the Seam obtain. She could be mistaken as a girl from the Town. Like my mother, from the town, who in which married a coal miner, mine and Prim's father. I sigh deeply and lift my chin up, placing a scowl on my chapped features. I grab by hunting boots made of complete leather and head to the kitchen. I spot an object wrapped completely of plants and whatever contents it contains, it is leaking. Goat cheese, I guess. Prim must've made it from her goat, Lady, as a present for the day's reaping. My scowl grows deeper as I place the goat cheese safely in my hunting jacket. The Capitol. It's their fault my family is living like this. We are suffering through poverty, starvation ...
